Moana - Disney's 56th animated movie

A new movie by Walt Disney Animation Studios that is scheduled  to be released on November 23, 2016 is the movie Moana and will be Disney's 56th animated feature film.

The movie will be about a girl named Moana Waialiki. She lives on the Motinui Island and has a talent for nagivation. When her family needs help she uses this talent to set sail in search of a fabled island and teams up with her hero and legendary demi-god Maui.






















Moana is directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, and co-directed by Don Hall and Chris Williams.
Ron Clements and John Musker made their writing and directing debuts in 1986 with the feature film The Great Mouse Detective. They then wrote and directed the Disney classics The Little Mermaid (1989), Aladdin (1992), Hercules (1997), Treasure Planet (2002) and The Princess and the Frog (2009).

On June 12th Walt Disney Animation Studios released the teaser trailer for Moana.



In Europe the name of the movie is changed from Moana to Vaiana because of possible trademark issues in Europe. According to Disney Spain "The Moana mark is registered in Spain and in some European countries.
